Oluwabankole Falade, becomes Chief Regulatory and Government Relations Officer for a fintech company in Nigeria, Flutterwave

Flutterwave an online payment solution platform, being a Nigerian Fintech unicorn appoints Oluwabankole Falade, who was the director, regulatory affairs and government relations at IHS Towers, a Nigerian company that owns 29,700 telecom towers across nine countries in Latin America, Sub Saharan Africa and the Middle east as the chief regulatory and government relation officer.

Falade has also held a key role at MTN and Visa where he spent 10 years and 4 years respectively. His appointment would go a long way to strengthen the relationship between the organization and government cause his role is to provide “strategic oversight and government relation strategies, to ensure that the interest and needs of the business are aligned with that of the regulators.”

According to flutterwave CEO, Oluwagbenga Agboola, “With Falade on our side, we know he is well grounded to improve our existing relationships and also help to create new relationships.”

Flutterwave payments processing business is live in 33 African countries. The width of that commands a regulatory burden likely to what multinational financial services companies and telecommunication networks have to contend with. They knew in their selection process, there’s a regulatory lead need thereby choosing someone with experience spanning across all sectors.

In announcing his appointment, he believes companies and regulators share the same objective of growing businesses and economies through technology and he is relishing new opportunities to make that happens
